وَ وَجَدَکَ ضَآلًّا فَہَدٰی ۪﴿۷﴾
7. اور اس نے آپ کو اپنی محبت میں خود رفتہ و گم پایا تو اس نے مقصود تک پہنچا دیا۔ یا- اور اس نے آپ کو بھٹکی ہوئی قوم کے درمیان (رہنمائی فرمانے والا) پایا تو اس نے (انہیں آپ کے ذریعے) ہدایت دے دی۔٭o
7. He found you lost (in His love) and guided you (to your destination).*
* It may also mean: ‘He found you (as a guide) amongst an unguided people and guided them through you.’ Or: ‘He found your nation misguided and guided them through you.’ It can also mean: ‘He found you all alone, unrecognised among the people, and guided (them to you).’ Scholars have given another possible meaning to this verse: ‘He found you like a tree in a desert, which shows the way to lost people, so He guided them to the right path through you.’ Scholars have also offered another meaning: ‘He has found you in an overwhelming wish of the Qibla (the Ka‘ba of Mecca), and He will guide you (through His command) towards it.’ In this translation, ‘al-dall’ means ‘lover’ or ‘wisher’. al-Suddi, al-Kalbi, al-Farra’ and other great scholars of the pious predecessors have reported these meanings. See: al-Tha‘labi, al-Razi, al-Qurtubi, Abu Hayyan, Abu Hafs al-Hanbali, al-Qadi ‘Iyad, al-Zurqani and others.
7. And He found you engrossed and lost in His love and then made you achieve the coveted objective. Or And He found in you (a leader) for a straying people so He provided them guidance (through you).
7. Wawajadaka dallan fahada
7. Og Han så deg dypt betatt i Sin kjærlighet, og førte deg til målet!
(7. Og Han så deg [som en rettleder] blant et villfarent folk, og rettledet dem [gjennom deg]*!)

7. और उसने आपको अपनी महब्बत में ख़ुद रफ्ता व गुम पाया तो उसने मक़्सूद तक पहुंचा दिया। या और उसने आपको भटकी हुई क़ौम के दर्मियान (रहनुमाई फरमाने वाला) पाया तो उसने (उन्हें आपके ज़रीए) हिदायत दे दी। * (2) और उसने आपको भटकी हुई क़ौम के दर्मियान (रहनुमाई फरमाने वाला) पाया तो उसने (उन्हें आपके ज़रीए) हिदायत दे दी। (2)
৭. আর তিনি আপনাকে পেয়েছেন তাঁর ভালোবাসায় নিমগ্ন ও আত্মহারা, অতঃপর তিনি আপনাকে অভীষ্ট লক্ষ্য অর্জন করিয়েছেন। <br>অথবা:
তিনি আপনাকে বিপথগামী সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে (পথপ্রদর্শনকারী) পেয়েছেন, অতঃপর তিনি (তাদেরকে আপনার মাধ্যমে) হেদায়াত দিয়েছেন।*
* এ অনুবাদে ‘দ্বাল্লান’ শব্দটিকে ‘ফাহাদা’ এর মাফউল মুকাদ্দাম (অর্থাৎ ক্রিয়ার পূর্বে কর্মের উল্লেখ) নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে। (দেখুন, তাফসীরে কাবীর, কুরতুবী, বাহরে মুহীত, রূহুল বায়ান, শিফা এবং শরহে খুফাজী।)
