اللہ کے نام سے شروع جو نہایت مہربان ہمیشہ رحم فرمانے والا ہے

وَ اذۡکُرۡ اَخَا عَادٍ ؕ اِذۡ اَنۡذَرَ قَوۡمَہٗ بِالۡاَحۡقَافِ وَ قَدۡ خَلَتِ النُّذُرُ مِنۡۢ بَیۡنِ یَدَیۡہِ وَ مِنۡ خَلۡفِہٖۤ اَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوۡۤا اِلَّا اللّٰہَ ؕ اِنِّیۡۤ اَخَافُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ عَذَابَ یَوۡمٍ عَظِیۡمٍ ﴿۲۱﴾

21. اور (اے حبیب!) آپ قومِ عاد کے بھائی (ہود علیہ السلام) کا ذکر کیجئے، جب انہوں نے (عُمان اور مَہرہ کے درمیان یمن کی ایک وادی) اَحقاف میں اپنی قوم کو (اَعمالِ بد کے نتائج سے) ڈرایا حالانکہ اس سے پہلے اور اس کے بعد (بھی کئی) ڈرانے والے (پیغمبر) گزر چکے تھے کہ تم اللہ کے سوا کسی اور کی پرستش نہ کرنا، مجھے ڈر ہے کہ کہیں تم پر بڑے (ہولناک) دن کا عذاب (نہ) آجائےo

21. And mention (Hud,) the kinship brother (of the people) of ‘Ad, when he warned his people (of the dire consequences of their evil deeds) at al-Ahqaf (the Sand-Hills—a valley in Yemen). And (other) warners had (also) passed away before and after him, (saying:) ‘Do not worship anyone but Allah. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a Terrible Day.’

21. And, (O Beloved,) remember (Hud) the kinship brother of the people of ‘Ad, when he warned his people (of the dire consequences of their evil deeds) in al-Ahqaf, (the Sand-Dunes [a valley in Yemen, between Oman and Mahra]) although (a number of) Warners (i.e., Messengers) had passed before and after him, (saying:) ‘Worship no one but Allah. I fear for you the punishment of a (Terrible) Day.’

21. Waothkur akha AAadin ith anthara qawmahu bialahqafi waqad khalati alnnuthuru min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi alla taAAbudoo illa Allaha innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin

21. Og (kjære elskede ﷺ!), nevn (folket) ‛Āds bror (Eber), da han advarte folket sitt (om illgjerningers ende) ved sanddynene (i en dal i Jemen mellom Oman og Mahra), enda det hadde gått bort advarere (sendebud) både før ham og etter ham: «Tilbe ikke noen andre utenom Allah! Jeg frykter for at det skal komme en mektig (forferdelig) dags pine over dere.»

21. और (ऐ हबीब!) आप क़ौमे आद के भाई (हूद अ़लैहिस्सलाम) का ज़िक्र कीजिए, जब उन्होंने (उमान और महरा के दर्मियान यमन की एक वादी) अहक़ाफ में अपनी क़ौम को (आमाले बद के नताइज से) डराया हालांकि उससे पहले और उसके बाद (भी कई) डराने वाले (पैग़म्बर) गुज़र चुके थे कि तुम अल्लाह के सिवा किसी और की परस्तिश न करना, मुझे डर है कि कहीं तुम पर बड़े (होलनाक) दिन का अ़ज़ाब (न) आ जाए।

২১. আর (হে হাবীব!) স্মরণ করুন ’আদ সম্প্রদায়ের ভ্রাতা (হুদ আলাইহিস সালাম)-এঁর কথা, যদিও তাঁর পূর্বে এবং তাঁর পরে (কতিপয়) সতর্ককারী (নবী) অতিবাহিত হয়েছিলেন, যখন তিনি (ওমান এবং মাহরার মধ্যবর্তী ইয়েমেনের এক উপত্যকা) আহকাফে তাঁর সম্প্রদায়কে (মন্দকর্মের পরিণতির ব্যাপারে) সতর্ক করছিলেন এই বলে, ‘তোমরা আল্লাহ্ ব্যতীত অন্য কারো উপাসনা করো না। আমি তোমাদের জন্যে আশংকা করছি (ভয়ানক) মহাদিবসের শাস্তি।’

قَالُوۡۤا اَجِئۡتَنَا لِتَاۡفِکَنَا عَنۡ اٰلِہَتِنَا ۚ فَاۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَاۤ اِنۡ کُنۡتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِیۡنَ ﴿۲۲﴾

22. وہ کہنے لگے کہ کیا آپ ہمارے پاس اس لئے آئے ہیں کہ ہمیں ہمارے معبودوں سے برگشتہ کر دیں، پس وہ (عذاب) لے آئیں جس سے ہمیں ڈرا رہے ہیں اگر آپ سچوں میں سے ہیںo

22. They said: ‘Have you come to us to turn us away from our gods? So bring us whatever you threaten us with if you are truthful.’

22. They said: ‘Have you come to us to turn us away from our gods? So bring us that (torment) you are threatening us with if you are of those who speak the truth.’

22. Qaloo ajitana litafikana AAan alihatina fatina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena

22. De sa: «Har du kommet til oss for å få oss til å avvike fra gudene våre? Bare kom med den (pinen) som du truer oss med, hvis du er av de sannferdige!»

22. वोह कहने लगे कि क्या आप हमारे पास इसलिए आए हैं कि हमें हमारे माबूदों से बरगश्ता कर दें, पस वोह (अ़ज़ाब) ले आएं जिससे हमें डरा रहे हैं अगर आप सच्चों में से हैं।

২২. তারা বললো, ‘আপনি কি আমাদেরকে আমাদের উপাস্যদের থেকে নিবৃত্ত করতে আমাদের নিকট এসেছেন? সুতরাং (সে শাস্তি) আনয়ন করুন আমাদেরকে যার ভয় দেখাচ্ছেন, যদি আপনি সত্যবাদী হন।’
(al-Ahqaf, 46 : 22)

قَالَ اِنَّمَا الۡعِلۡمُ عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ ۫ۖ وَ اُبَلِّغُکُمۡ مَّاۤ اُرۡسِلۡتُ بِہٖ وَ لٰکِنِّیۡۤ اَرٰىکُمۡ قَوۡمًا تَجۡہَلُوۡنَ ﴿۲۳﴾

23. انہوں نے کہا کہ (اس عذاب کے وقت کا) علم تو اللہ ہی کے پاس ہے اور میں تمہیں وہی احکام پہنچا رہا ہوں جو میں دے کر بھیجا گیا ہوں لیکن میں تمہیں دیکھ رہا ہوں کہ تم جاہل لوگ ہوo

23. He said: ‘The knowledge (of the Hour) is with Allah alone. I (only) convey to you what I have been sent with. But I can see you are an ignorant people.’

23. He said: ‘The knowledge (of the Hour of the torment) is with Allah alone. And I am only transmitting to you the injunctions which I have been sent with. But I can see that you are an ignorant people.’

23. Qala innama alAAilmu AAinda Allahi waoballighukum ma orsiltu bihi walakinnee arakum qawman tajhaloona

23. Eber sa: «Vitenen er kun hos Allah (om når pinen vil inntreffe), og jeg overbringer dere kun de bud som jeg er sendt med. Men jeg ser at dere er et uvitende folk.»

23. उन्होंने कहा कि (उस अ़ज़ाब के वक़्त का) इल्म तो अल्लाह ही के पास है और मैं तुम्हें वोही अहकाम पहुंचा रहा हूं जो मैं देकर भेजा गया हूं लेकिन मैं तुम्हें देख रहा हूं कि तुम जाहिल लोग हो।

২৩. তিনি বললেন, ‘(এ শাস্তির মুহূর্তের) জ্ঞান তো কেবল আল্লাহ্‌রই নিকট রয়েছে। আমি তো তোমাদের নিকট সে বিধানই পৌঁছে দেই যা দিয়ে আমাকে প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে। কিন্তু আমি দেখছি যে, তোমরা এক অজ্ঞ সম্প্রদায়।’
(al-Ahqaf, 46 : 23)

فَلَمَّا رَاَوۡہُ عَارِضًا مُّسۡتَقۡبِلَ اَوۡدِیَتِہِمۡ ۙ قَالُوۡا ہٰذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمۡطِرُنَا ؕ بَلۡ ہُوَ مَا اسۡتَعۡجَلۡتُمۡ بِہٖ ؕ رِیۡحٌ فِیۡہَا عَذَابٌ اَلِیۡمٌ ﴿ۙ۲۴﴾

24. پھر جب انہوں نے اس (عذاب) کو بادل کی طرح اپنی وادیوں کے سامنے آتا ہوا دیکھا تو کہنے لگے: یہ (تو) بادل ہے جو ہم پر برسنے والا ہے، (ایسا نہیں ہے) بلکہ وہ (بادل) تو وہ (عذاب) ہے جس کی تم نے جلدی مچا رکھی تھی۔ (یہ) آندھی ہے جس میں دردناک عذاب (آرہا) ہےo

24. So when they saw it (i.e. the torment) advancing towards their valleys as a (dense) cloud, they said: ‘This is a cloud bringing us rain.’ ‘(Nay!) Instead, this (cloud) is that (torment) you restlessly sought to hasten. (It is) a hurricane, carrying a painful punishment.

24. So when they saw that (torment) advancing on their valleys like a cloud, they said: ‘This is the cloud that is going to rain upon us.’ (Nay, not that,) rather this (cloud) is that (torment) which you were restlessly seeking to hasten. (This) is the storm in which is (approaching) a grievous punishment.

24. Falamma raawhu AAaridan mustaqbila awdiyatihim qaloo hatha AAaridun mumtiruna bal huwa ma istaAAjaltum bihi reehun feeha AAathabun aleemun

24. Men da de så den (pinen) komme svevende som en sky mot dalene deres, sa de: «Dette er en sky som vil regne over oss!» Tvert imot! Dette (denne skyen) er den (pinen) dere ba om å få framskyndet, en vindstorm, som det er en smertelig pine i,

24. फिर जब उन्होंने उस (अ़ज़ाब) को बादल की तरह अपनी वादियों के सामने आता हुवा देखा तो कहने लगे: ये (तो) बादल है जो हम पर बरसने वाला है (ऐसा नहीं है) बल्कि वोह (बादल) तो वोह (अ़ज़ाब) है जिसकी तुमने जल्दी मचा रखी थी। (ये) आंधी है जिसमें दर्दनाक अ़ज़ाब (आ रहा) है।

২৪. অতঃপর যখন তারা তাদের উপত্যকার সামনে মেঘের আকারে অগ্রসরমান (শাস্তি) দেখতে পেলো তখন তারা বলতে শুরু করলো, ‘এ (তো) মেঘ যা আমাদের উপর বৃষ্টি বর্ষণ করবে’। (না, তা নয়,) এ তো (মেঘের আকারে সে শাস্তি) যা তোমরা দ্রুত কামনা করছিলে। (এটি) ঝঞ্ঝাবায়ূ যাতে রয়েছে (অগ্রসরমান) যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি।

تُدَمِّرُ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍۭ بِاَمۡرِ رَبِّہَا فَاَصۡبَحُوۡا لَا یُرٰۤی اِلَّا مَسٰکِنُہُمۡ ؕ کَذٰلِکَ نَجۡزِی الۡقَوۡمَ الۡمُجۡرِمِیۡنَ ﴿۲۵﴾

25. (جو) اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے ہر شے کو تباہ و برباد کر دے گی پس وہ ایسے (تباہ) ہو گئے کہ ان کے (مِسمار) گھروں کے سوا کچھ نظر ہی نہیں آتا تھا۔ ہم مجرم لوگوں کو اِس طرح سزا دیا کرتے ہیںo

25. It will destroy everything by the command of its Lord.’ So they became such that nothing but their (ruined) houses could be seen. That is how We punish the evildoers.

25. (That) will destroy everything by the command of its Lord. They were (destroyed) in such a way that nothing could be seen except their (ruined) houses. That is how We punish the evildoers.

25. Tudammiru kulla shayin biamri rabbiha faasbahoo la yura illa masakinuhum kathalika najzee alqawma almujrimeena

25. som vil knuse alle ting ved sin Herres befaling. Så ble de slik (fullstendig knuste), ingenting var å se unntatt deres (ruinlagte) bosteder. Slik lønner Vi det syndefulle folk.

25. (जो) अपने परवरदिगार के हुक्म से हर शय को तबाहो बर्बाद कर देगी पस वोह ऐसे (तबाह) हो गए कि उनके (मिस्मार) घरों के सिवा कुछ नज़र नहीं आता था। हम मुज्रिम लोगों को इस तरह सज़ा दिया करते हैं।

২৫. স্বীয় প্রতিপালকের নির্দেশে তা সমস্ত কিছু ধ্বংস ও বরবাদ করে দেবে। অতঃপর সেসব এমন (তছনছ) হয়ে গেল যে, তাদের (ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্ত) গৃহগুলো ছাড়া আর কিছুই দৃশ্যমান রইলো না। এভাবেই আমরা অপরাধীদেরকে শাস্তি প্রদান করে থাকি।

وَ لَقَدۡ مَکَّنّٰہُمۡ فِیۡمَاۤ اِنۡ مَّکَّنّٰکُمۡ فِیۡہِ وَ جَعَلۡنَا لَہُمۡ سَمۡعًا وَّ اَبۡصَارًا وَّ اَفۡـِٕدَۃً ۫ۖ فَمَاۤ اَغۡنٰی عَنۡہُمۡ سَمۡعُہُمۡ وَ لَاۤ اَبۡصَارُہُمۡ وَ لَاۤ اَفۡـِٕدَتُہُمۡ مِّنۡ شَیۡءٍ اِذۡ کَانُوۡا یَجۡحَدُوۡنَ ۙ بِاٰیٰتِ اللّٰہِ وَ حَاقَ بِہِمۡ مَّا کَانُوۡا بِہٖ یَسۡتَہۡزِءُوۡنَ ﴿٪۲۶﴾

26. (اے اہلِ مکہّ!) درحقیقت ہم نے ان کو ان امور میں طاقت و قدرت دے رکھی تھی جن میں ہم نے تم کو قدرت نہیں دی اور ہم نے انہیں سماعت اور بصارت اور دل و دماغ (کی بے بہا صلاحیتوں) سے نوازا تھا مگر نہ تو ان کے کان ہی ان کے کچھ کام آسکے اور نہ ان کی آنکھیں اور نہ (ہی) ان کے دل و دماغ جبکہ وہ اللہ کی نشانیوں کا انکار ہی کرتے رہے اور (بالآخر) اس (عذاب) نے انہیں آگھیرا جس کا وہ مذاق اڑایا کرتے تھےo

26. (O Meccans!) Indeed, We had established them (in power) in such a manner that We did not establish you. And We gave them (advanced abilities of) hearing, sight and intellect (according to their time). But their hearing, their sight, and their minds did not avail them in any way since they persisted in denying the signs of Allah. So, the torment they used to ridicule besieged them.

26. (O people of Mecca!) In fact, We had given them power and ability in those fields of activity in which We have not granted you potential. And We blessed them with hearing and sight and (invaluable qualities of) head and heart. But neither their ears nor their eyes, nor their heads and hearts were of any use to them since they kept denying the signs of Allah. And (at last) that (torment) which they used to laugh at besieged them.

26. Walaqad makkannahum feema in makkannakum feehi wajaAAalna lahum samAAan waabsaran waafidatan fama aghna AAanhum samAAuhum wala absaruhum wala afidatuhum min shayin ith kanoo yajhadoona biayati Allahi wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

26. Og (å, dere Mekkas folk!), i sannhet, Vi hadde gitt dem makt og evne i de sakene som Vi ikke har gitt dere makt og evne i. Og Vi ga dem hørsel og syn, og (mange uvurderlige egenskaper i) hjerte og hjerne. Men til ingen nytte for dem i det hele tatt var deres hørsel og ei heller deres syn, og heller ikke deres hjerte og hjerne ettersom de fornektet Allahs tegn. Men til slutt ble de omsluttet av den (pinen) som de pleide å gjøre narr av.

26. (ऐ अहले मक्का) दर हक़ीक़त हमने उनको उन उमूर में ताक़तो क़ुदरत दे रखी थी जिनमें हमने तुमको क़ुदरत नहीं दी और हमने उन्हें समाअ़त और बसारत और दिलो दिमाग़ (की बे बहा सलाहिय्यतों) से नवाज़ा था मगर न तो उनके कान ही उनके कुछ काम आ सके और न उनकी आंखें और न (ही) उनके दिलो दिमाग़ जबकि वोह अल्लाह की निशानियों का इन्कार ही करते रहे और (बिल आख़िर) उस (अ़ज़ाब) ने उन्हें आ घेरा जिसका वोह मज़ाक़ उड़ाया करते थे।

২৬. (হে মক্কার অধিবাসীরা!) প্রকৃতপক্ষে আমরা তাদেরকে যেসব বিষয়ে শক্তি ও ক্ষমতা দিয়েছিলাম তোমাদেরকে সে ক্ষমতা দেইনি। আর আমরা তাদেরকে দিয়েছিলাম শ্রবণ, দৃষ্টি এবং হৃদয় ও মস্তিস্ক (-এর অমূল্য গুণাগুণ); কিন্তু তাদের কর্ণ না কোনো কাজে এসেছে, আর না তাদের চক্ষু, আর না তাদের হৃদয় ও মস্তিস্ক, কেননা তারা আল্লাহ্‌র নিদর্শনাবলীকে অস্বীকার রত ছিল; আর (পরিশেষে সে শাস্তি) তাদেরকে এসে পরিবেষ্টন করলো যা নিয়ে তারা উপহাস করতো।
