Surah al-Kahf Ayat 9 with English Translation

9. کیا آپ نے یہ خیال کیا ہے کہ کہف و رقیم (یعنی غار اور لوحِ غار یا وادئ رقیم) والے ہماری (قدرت کی) نشانیوں میں سے (کتنی) عجیب نشانی تھے؟o

9. (O Prophet!) Have you considered that the Companions of the Cave and the Valley of al-Raqim (or Inscription) were among Our wonderful signs?*

* The story of the Companions of the Cave is also known in the Christian tradition as the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus. This was a group of believing Christian youths who hid inside a cave outside the city of Ephesus around 250 AD. They fled to Allah, protecting their faith and seeking refuge from their king (the Roman emperor) named Daqyanus (Decius). The pious youths slept for 300 solar years, which equates to 309 lunar years. It is one of the most evident examples of non-prophetic miracles (karamat) in the Qur’an.

9. Have you thought of it (how) wondrous a sign of the signs (of Our might) were the People of the Kahf and the Raqim (i.e., the People of Cave and the Cave Tablet or the Raqim valley)?

9. Am hasibta anna ashaba alkahfi waalrraqeemi kanoo min ayatina AAajaban

9. Har du tenkt over hvor merkverdige tegn de mennene (de hellige syv sovere) i hulen og ar-Raqīm (hulen og hulens tavle, eller dalen Raqīm) var på Vår allmakt?

9. क्या आपने ये ख़याल क़िया है कि कह्‌फो रक़ीम (यानी ग़ार और लौहे ग़ार या व़ादिए रक़ीम) वाले हमारी (क़ुदरत की) निशानियों में से (कितनी) अ़जीब निशानी थे?

৯. আপনি কি লক্ষ্য করেছেন, কাহ্ফ এবং রক্বীমবাসী (অর্থাৎ গুহা এবং গুহার ফলক অথবা রক্বীম উপত্যকাবাসী) আমাদের (কুদরতের) নিদর্শনাবলীর মধ্যে (কতোই না) বিস্ময়কর নিদর্শন ছিল?
