Surah as-Saff with English Translation

10. اے ایمان والو! کیا میں تمہیں ایک ایسی تجارت بتا دوں جو تم کو دردناک عذاب سے بچا لے؟o

10. O believers! Shall I guide you to a trade that will deliver you from a painful punishment?

10. O believers! Shall I advise you a trade which will save you from a painful torment?

10. Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo hal adullukum AAala tijaratin tunjeekum min AAathabin aleemin

10. Å, dere troende! Skal Jeg opplyse dere om en handel som vil berge dere fra en smertelig pine?

10. ऐ ईमान वालो! क्या मैं तुम्हें ऐसी तिजारत बता दूं जो तुमको दर्दनाक अ़ज़ाब से बचा ले?

১০. হে ঈমানদারগণ! আমি কি তোমাদেরকে এমন বাণিজ্যের সন্ধান দেবো যা তোমাদেরকে রক্ষা করবে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি থেকে?

يا أيها الذين آمنوا هل أدلكم على تجارة تنجيكم من عذاب أليم

11. (وہ یہ ہے کہ) تم اللہ پر اور اُس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر (کامل) ایمان رکھو اور اللہ کی راہ میں اپنے مال و جان سے جہاد کرو، یہی تمہارے حق میں بہتر ہے اگر تم جانتے ہوo

11. (It is that) you believe in Allah and His Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) and struggle hard in Allah’s way with your possessions and your persons. That would be better for you if only you knew.

11. (It is that) you have (perfect) belief in Allah and His Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) and strive hard for the cause of Allah with your human and material resources. That is better for you if you know.

11. Tuminoona biAllahi warasoolihi watujahidoona fee sabeeli Allahi biamwalikum waanfusikum thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona

11. (Den handelen er at) dere antar troen (fullkomment) på Allah og Sendebudet Hans (ﷺ), og at dere anstrenger dere for Allahs sak med deres eiendom og liv. Dette er det beste for dere, hvis dere vet.

11. (वोह ये है कि) तुम अल्लाह पर और उसके रसूल (सल्लल्लाहु अ़लैहि व सल्लम) पर (कामिल) ईमान रखो और अल्लाह की राह में अपने मालो जान से जिहाद करो, येही तुम्हारे हक़्क़ में बेहतर है अगर तुम जानते हो।

১১. (তা এই যে,) তোমরা (পরিপূর্ণ) বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করো আল্লাহ্ এবং তাঁর রাসূল (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া আলিহী ওয়াসাল্লাম)-এঁর প্রতি এবং আল্লাহ্‌র পথে জিহাদ করো তোমাদের সম্পদ ও জীবন দ্বারা। এটিই তোমাদের জন্যে কল্যাণকর, যদি তোমরা জানো।

تؤمنون بالله ورسوله وتجاهدون في سبيل الله بأموالكم وأنفسكم ذلكم خير لكم إن كنتم تعلمون

12. وہ تمہارے گناہوں کو بخش دے گا اور تمہیں جنتوں میں داخل فرمائے گا جن کے نیچے سے نہریں جاری ہوں گی اور نہایت عمدہ رہائش گاہوں میں (ٹھہرائے گا) جو جناتِ عدن (یعنی ہمیشہ رہنے کی جنتوں) میں ہیں، یہی زبردست کامیابی ہےo

12. He shall forgive you your sins, admit you into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath them and (make you reside) in pleasant dwellings in the Gardens of Eternity. That is the ultimate success.

12. He will forgive your sins and will admit you into Gardens with streams flowing under them, and (will make you reside) in excellent dwellings in the Gardens of Eden (i.e., Gardens of Eternity). That is indeed a great success.

12. Yaghfir lakum thunoobakum wayudkhilkum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu wamasakina tayyibatan fee jannati AAadnin thalika alfawzu alAAatheemu

12. Han vil tilgi syndene deres og føre dere inn i hager som det flyter elver under, og i fortreffelige boliger i Edens hager. Dette er den kjempemessige seieren.

12. वोह तुम्हारे गुनाहों को बख़्श देगा और तुम्हें जन्नतों में दाख़िल फरमाएगा, जिनके नीचे से नहरें जारी होंगी और निहायत उम्दा रिहाइशगाहों में (ठहराएगा) जो जन्नाते अद्‌न (यानी हमेशा रहने की जन्नतों) में हैं, येही ज़बर्दस्त कामयाबी है।

১২. তিনি তোমাদের পাপ ক্ষমা করে দেবেন এবং তোমাদেরকে প্রবিষ্ট করাবেন জান্নাতে যার তলদেশ দিয়ে স্রোতধারা প্রবাহিত এবং (বসবাস করাবেন) আদন জান্নাতের (অর্থাৎ স্থায়ী উদ্যানের) অতি উত্তম আবাসস্থলে। এটিই মহাসাফল্য।

يغفر لكم ذنوبكم ويدخلكم جنات تجري من تحتها الأنهار ومساكن طيبة في جنات عدن ذلك الفوز العظيم

13. اور (اس اُخروی نعمت کے علاوہ) ایک دوسری (دنیوی نعمت بھی عطا فرمائے گا) جسے تم بہت چاہتے ہو، (وہ) اللہ کی جانب سے مدد اور جلد ملنے والی فتح ہے، اور (اے نبئ مکرّم!) آپ مومنوں کو خوشخبری سنا دیں (یہ فتحِ مکہ اور فارس و روم کی فتوحات کی شکل میں ظاہر ہوئی)o

13. And (He will also grant you) other (blessings) you long for: (that is,) help from Allah and an imminent victory. So give glad tidings to the believers.*

* It refers to the Conquest of Mecca and the victories over the Persians and Byzantines.

13. And, (besides this favour in the Hereafter, He will grant you) another (worldly blessing too) which you earnestly desire: (that is) help from Allah and a near victory, and, (O Esteemed Prophet,) give this good news to the believers. (This came about in the form of Meccan Victory and the conquests in Persia and Rome.)

13. Waokhra tuhibboonaha nasrun mina Allahi wafathun qarreebun wabashshiri almumineena

13. Og (utenom den gunsten i det hinsidige er det) en annen (gunst også) som dere elsker veldig høyt (gunst i det dennesidige som Han vil skjenke dere), (det er) hjelp og nær forestående seier fra Allah. Og (kjære elskede ﷺ!), bebud det gledelige budskapet til de troende (dette ble oppfylt i form av seieren i Mekka og erobringer i Persia og Østromerriket)!

13. और (उस उख़्रवी नेअ़मत के अ़लावा) एक दूसरी (दुन्यवी नेअ़मत भी अ़ता फरमाएगा) । जिसे तुम बहुत चाहते हो, (वोह) अल्लाह की जानिब से मदद और जल्द मिलने वाली फत्ह है, और (ऐ नबिय्ये मुकर्रम!) आप मोमिनों को ख़ुश ख़बरी सुना दें (ये फत्हे़ मक्का और फारसो रूम की फुतूहात की शक्ल में ज़ाहिर हुई) ।

১৩. আর (পরকালীন এ নিয়ামত ছাড়াও) তিনি প্রদান করবেন (পার্থিব) আরো এক অনুগ্রহ যা তোমরা ঐকান্তিকভাবেই কামনা করো। (তা হলো) আল্লাহ্‌র পক্ষ থেকে সাহায্য এবং আসন্ন বিজয়। আর (হে সম্মানিত নবী!) আপনি মুমিনগণকে সুসংবাদ দিন। (এ অনুগ্রহ মক্কা বিজয় এবং পারস্য-রোম বিজয়াকারে উদ্ভাসিত হবে।)

وأخرى تحبونها نصر من الله وفتح قريب وبشر المؤمنين

14. اے ایمان والو! تم اللہ کے مددگار بن جاؤ جیسا کہ عیسٰی ابن مریم (علیہما السلام) نے (اپنے) حواریوں سے کہا تھا: اللہ کی (راہ کی) طرف میرے مددگار کون ہیں؟ حواریوں نے کہا: ہم اللہ کے مددگار ہیں۔ پس بنی اسرائیل کا ایک گروہ ایمان لے آیا اور دوسرا گروہ کافر ہوگیا، سو ہم نے اُن لوگوں کی جو ایمان لے آئے تھے اُن کے دشمنوں پر مدد فرمائی پس وہ غالب ہوگئےo

14. O believers! Be helpers (in the cause) of Allah, as ‘Isa, the son of Maryam (Jesus, the son of Mary), said to the disciples: ‘Who are my helpers in the cause of Allah?’ The disciples replied: ‘We are (your) helpers (in the cause) of Allah.’ Then, a faction of the Children of Israel believed, and a faction disbelieved. So, We strengthened the believers against their enemy, and they came to prevail.

14. O believers! Be helpers of Allah as ‘Isa, the son of Maryam (Jesus, the son of Mary) said to (his) disciples: ‘Who are my helpers towards (the path of) Allah?’ The disciples said: ‘We are Allah’s helpers.’ So a party of the Children of Israel believed and a party disbelieved. So We helped the believers against their enemies and they gained the upper hand.

14. Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo koonoo ansara Allahi kama qala AAeesa ibnu maryama lilhawariyyeena man ansaree ila Allahi qala alhawariyyoona nahnu ansaru Allahi faamanat taifatun min banee israeela wakafarat taifatun faayyadna allatheena amanoo AAala AAaduwwihim faasbahoo thahireena

14. Å, dere troende! Bli Allahs hjelpere, slik som Jesus, sønn av Maria, sa til disiplene (sine): «Hvem er mine hjelpere for Allah (Allahs sak)?» Disiplene sa: «Vi er Allahs hjelpere!» Og en gruppe av Israels barn antok troen, og en gruppe ble vantro. Og Vi hjalp dem som antok troen, mot fiendene deres, og de fikk overhånd.

14. ऐ ईमान वालो! तुम अल्लाह के मददगार बन जाओ जैसा के ईसा इब्ने मर्यम (अ़लैहिमा अस्सलाम) ने (अपने) हवारियों से कहा था: अल्लाह की (राह की) तरफ मेरे मददगार कौन हैं, हवारियों ने कहा: हम अल्लाह के मददगार हैं। पस बनी इस्राईल का एक गिरोह ईमान ले आया और दूसरा गिरोह काफिर हो गया, सो हमने उन लोगों की जो ईमान ले आए थे उनके दुश्मनों पर मदद फरमाई पस वोह ग़ालिब हो गए।

১৪. হে ঈমানদারগণ! তোমরা আল্লাহ্‌র সাহায্যকারী হও, যেমন মারইয়াম তনয় ঈসা (আলাইহিমাস সালাম তাঁর) অনুসারীদেরকে বলেছিলেন, ‘আল্লাহ্‌র পথে কারা আমার সাহায্যকারী?’ অনুসারীরা বলেছিল, ‘আমরা আল্লাহ্‌র পথে সাহায্যকারী’। অতঃপর বনী ইসরাঈলের একদল ঈমান আনয়ন করলো এবং অপরদল কুফরী করলো। সুতরাং আমরা ঈমানদারগণকে তাদের শত্রুদের বিরুদ্ধে সাহায্য করলাম এবং তাঁরা বিজয় অর্জন করলো।

يا أيها الذين آمنوا كونوا أنصار الله كما قال عيسى ابن مريم للحواريين من أنصاري إلى الله قال الحواريون نحن أنصار الله فآمنت طائفة من بني إسرائيل وكفرت طائفة فأيدنا الذين آمنوا على عدوهم فأصبحوا ظاهرين
