فَنَادَتۡہُ الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃُ وَ ہُوَ قَآئِمٌ یُّصَلِّیۡ فِی الۡمِحۡرَابِ ۙ اَنَّ اللّٰہَ یُبَشِّرُکَ بِیَحۡیٰی مُصَدِّقًۢا بِکَلِمَۃٍ مِّنَ اللّٰہِ وَ سَیِّدًا وَّ حَصُوۡرًا وَّ نَبِیًّا مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِیۡنَ ﴿۳۹﴾

39. ابھی وہ حجرے میں کھڑے نماز ہی پڑھ رہے تھے (یا دعا ہی کر رہے تھے) کہ انہیں فرشتوں نے آواز دی: بیشک اللہ آپ کو (فرزند) یحیٰی (علیہ السلام) کی بشارت دیتا ہے جو کلمۃ اللہ (یعنی عیسٰی علیہ السلام) کی تصدیق کرنے والا ہو گا اور سردار ہو گا اور عورتوں (کی رغبت) سے بہت محفوظ ہو گا اور (ہمارے) خاص نیکوکار بندوں میں سے نبی ہو گاo

39. Whilst he was still standing in the chamber offering the Prayer (or supplicating), the angels called out to him: ‘Indeed, Allah gives you the good news of (a son) Yahya (John), who shall confirm Allah’s Word (i.e., ‘Isa [Jesus]), and he will be a leader, well-protected against (temptation for) women, and a Prophet from amongst (Our) exceptionally pious servants.’

(آل عِمْرَان، 3 : 39)
